How to tell if your Polaris snowmobile is on a Matryx chassis

Introduced in 2021, the Matryx chassis is Polaris’ latest evolution, offering improved ergonomics, a narrower cockpit, enhanced handling, and a sleek, aggressive modern style.

However, since 2021 was a transition year where some models remained on the AXYS chassis, it can be tricky to know which platform your sled is on. Here’s how to figure it out.

✅ 1. Check the year and model

• Before 2021: No Matryx models (all were on AXYS or earlier chassis)

• 2021: Introduction of the Matryx chassis on several models (PRO-RMK Matryx Slash, Khaos Matryx Slash, Switchback XC Matryx…), but other models remained on AXYS

• 2022 and newer: Most Polaris models are now on the Matryx chassis

✅ 2. Check the model name
If your snowmobile’s name contains “Matryx” or “Matryx Slash”, it’s a Matryx chassis model.

• Khaos Matryx Slash

• Switchback XC Matryx

✅ 3. Visual features of the Matryx chassis

• Narrower cockpit for better control while standing

• More angular, modern body styling

• Running boards designed for improved snow evacuation
