How to Tell if Your Arctic Cat Snowmobile Has an Ascender or ProClimb Chassis
Since 2012, Arctic Cat has used two main mountain snowmobile chassis generations: ProClimb and Ascender.
The ProClimb chassis was introduced in 2012 and remained the foundation for many models until 2018.
In 2018, Arctic Cat released the Ascender chassis, featuring improved ergonomics, a narrower tunnel, easier rear access, and better deep-snow maneuverability.
Here’s how to tell them apart:

2012 to 2017 – Most mountain models (M6000, M8000, M9000) are on the ProClimb chassis.

2018 and newer – Most mountain models switched to the Ascender chassis.
