How to tell if your Polaris snowmobile is on a PRO-RIDE chassis
From 2011 to 2015, Polaris used the PRO-RIDE chassis on several snowmobile models. Known for its durability and stability, it defined an entire generation before the arrival of the AXYS chassis.
With platform changes over the years, it can be tricky to know for sure. Here’s how to identify yours.
✅ 1. Check the year and model
If your Polaris snowmobile is a 2011 to 2015 PRO-RMK, RMK, Indy, or Assault, it is on a PRO-RIDE chassis.
In 2015, Polaris introduced the AXYS chassis on a few specific models (such as certain Switchback versions), but the PRO-RMK, RMK, Indy, and Assault remained on the PRO-RIDE chassis that year.
✅ 2. Recognize the chassis design
The PRO-RIDE chassis can be identified by:
A more angular, less streamlined tunnel compared to the AXYS
A lower rear grab handle than newer generations
A seat design that is straighter and less tapered
✅ 3. Polaris models typically on the PRO-RIDE chassis
PRO-RMK and RMK (2011–2015)
Assault (2011–2015)
Indy (2013–2015)
Many utility models such as Voyageur or WideTrak (up to 2015)
